Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibahsvili believes the scandalous video of ex-Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili asking for "two dead bodies” is an ordered murder.

"This is an ordered murder motivated by self-interest,” Garibashvili said, from the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

"This is a catastrophe,” the PM said.

"We all are astonished. This will be more competently assessed by police but I, as a citizen, find it very serious. In the video we witnessed how the ex-Interior Minister and Prime Minister ordered two murders.”

Garibahsvili called on the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the case as soon as possible.

The secret video leaked on the internet on January 30. It showed Georgia’s ex-Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili order men in military uniform to bring him "two dead bodies”.

It is believed the video was taken while the former government was trying to neutralize the mutiny by a Georgian Army tank Battalion based in Mukhrovani on May 5, 2009 also known as Mukhrovani Case. As a result, one of the rebels was killed during the operation and two others were wounded.

Former PM Vano Merabishvili, former Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili, ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili and the suspended Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava are pictured in the video. It also showed former head of the Constitutional Security Department Data Ahalaia and former head of the Criminal Police Erekle Kodua participate in the operation.
