Georgia will present the final counterclaim on the 2008 Georgia-Russian war to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg today.

According to the Justice Minister Thea Tsulukiani, the counterclaim consists of 100 pages and will be presented to the court until the end of the day.

"This is a 100-page counterclaim, with over 180 enclosures. The document is currently being uploaded on the website of the Strasbourg Court. Presenting the counterclaim and enclosures will be finished until the end of the day and after this oral hearing will begin,” she said.

As for the decision of the Court, Tsulukiani noted that "all sides had an expectation of victory.”

The Minister of Justice made another comment about this issue earlier too.

"We continue disputes on state actions in Strasbourg. The first dispute with Russia has been successfully completed. As for the second action, which touches the issue of the August war, both sides will present our final counterclaims on December 31 and probably next year oral hearings will already be held in the Strasbourg Court,” she said.
