President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has commented on the scandalous video of ex-Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili but has not revealed his personal opinion.

He said did not want to comment in detail and upset the presumption of innocence.

"I've seen the footage. The point on this issue is that, at the present time we are living in such a state that we do not have to do a political assessment. This video must be in the interest of the prosecution. I call the prosecution to show interest in this material, " Margvelashvili said.

The President clarified that every person on the video had a right to the presumption of innocence, and most had already been accused or were currently under investigation for their actions.

"I understand that there are some expectations to express my emotional attitude towards this issue or make an assessment but it is important to protect the presumption of innocence,” Margvelashvili stated.
