Eliminating rebels is only approved in dictatorial states, Radio Liberty military expert Koba Liklikadze claims.

The military expert and Radio Liberty reporter has appealed to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office to interrogate all the former government officials who appeared in the controversial video where ex-Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili said he wanted "two dead bodies”.

"There is no doubt that those who were planning a coup should be found guilty and sentenced to a heavy sentence,” Liklikadze said.

"However, eliminating suspected persons is relevant to a dictatorial government. Georgian authorities have always had an ambition that it was a democratic and fair state.”

Koba Liklikadze said there was evidence that could reveal terrible things had happened in Georgia over the past nine years.

He said a part of society used to claim that the previous Georgian government had sentenced the high officials charged with the so-called Mukhrovani Coup to the death penalty without attempting to investigate the case.

"If this video is considered authentic and the term "two dead bodies” does not have another meaning as a code word, it is clear that the former minister Merabishvili is talking about Gia Krialashvili and Koba Otanadze.”
