Georgia and its culture were on show at two leading European Christmas events in Austria and Lithuania.

A Georgian stand was set up among stalls from dozens of other countries at the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) International Christmas Charity Bazaar in the Austrian capital Vienna last week.

Similarly, a Georgian stand was also erected at the International Christmas Charity Bazaar in Vilnius, Lithuania, which was organised by the International Women’s Association of Vilnius.

The Georgian Embassies in Lithuania and Austria hosted their respective stalls. Georgia featured among the foreign missions and representations stands. The Georgian stands offered Georgian wine, tea, mineral water, handcrafts, souvenirs and artifacts.

Traditional Georgian national products including a variety of food were also available for guests to taste and purchase.

Visitors were particularly enthusiastic about a homemade creation by Georgia’s Ambassador in Lithuania Khatuna Salukvadze, where she made traditional Georgian Christmas candy Gozinaki, which is made from walnuts and honey.

All funds raised at the two events support the local vulnerable population – the International Women’s Association of Vilnius will provide needy people with aid and the UNWG International Festival Charity Bazaar in Vienna will offer finances and support to children in need.
