The Czech Republic is condemning Russia’s moves across Georgia’s two occupied regions Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) and is accusing Moscow of violating international legal norms.
The Senate of the Czech Republic adopted a special resolution in support of Georgia’s territorial integrity yesterday. The document slammed Russia's attempts to sign an "Alliance and Integration” agreement with breakaway Abkhazia.

The document also called on the necessity to ratify Georgia’s Association Agreement with the European Union (EU) in a speedy manner.
The resolution was adopted during Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili’s visit to Prague. Beruchashvili met the Czech Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and other high ranking officials.
The Georgian Minister assessed the Czech resolution as "the first most solid sing of support”.
"This means that no one should go against international laws and a choice of independent countries and everyone should respect their decision,” Beruchashvili said, adding Georgia appreciated this move of the Czech Republic "very much”.
Meanwhile, Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek said cooperation with Georgia was "one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the Czech Republic.”
"We are ready to intensify our efforts to make Czech companies interested in Georgia’s economical and investment potential,” he said.
