The country’s recently-dismissed Defence Minister Irakli Alasania has refused future cooperation with Georgia’s opposition party United National Movement (UNM).
Alasania highlighted that he did not exclude future cooperation with "some liberal” parties from the Georgian Dream coalition, such as the Republicans.
"We see future partners in the coalition forces. There are some liberal parties in the coalition which are very closely related and have established close collaboration with us,” Alasania said.
"As for the future of our political partners, the one thing I can tell you very clearly, that Free Democrats cannot be a political union with [United] National Movement. We have fundamental differences on many issues.”
