New Deputy Corrections Minister appointed

The Ministry of Corrections has a new First Deputy Minister.

Minister Giorgi Mgebrishvili will officially present Kakha Kakhishvili to the role this afternoon at the Ministry.

A special presentation will take place at 5pm today, Mgebrishvili said.

Kakhishvili will move into the public service after working in the non-governmental sector. Before taking the post of Deputy Minister he was the director of Political Technology Research Centre.

The position of first Deputy Minister has been vacant since Giga Giorgadze left the post alongside former Corrections Minister Sozar Subari, who, by the decision of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, was reappointed as the country’s Minister of Refugees.
