Classical Music Festival puts Telavi in international spotlight

Telavi International Music Festival will host numerous local and foreign musician from October 11 until October 18.

Telavi, the ancient royal city in east Georgia’s wine-producing Kakheti region, has become a favorite destination for music lovers starting from October 11.

For the next six days, Telavi will host numerous performances by musicians from Georgia, Germany, Austria, Poland and Switzerland within its annual international classical music festival.

The Telavi International Music Festival celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. The Festival was open by the country’s Culture Minister Mikheil Giorgadze and attended by President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Georgia-accredited diplomat corps yesterday.

Famous Georgian pianist Eliso Virsaladze is the artistic director of the festival. Organisers predicted an unforgettable six days ahead for classical music lovers across the world.

The festival will close on October 18.
