Vaclav Havel memorial unveiled in Tbilisi

Tbilisi has dedicated a memorial to the late Czech playwright, dissident and President Vaclav Havel.

The memorial board was unveiled at the Vaclav Havel Square in Tbilisi’s central Vake district. 

Authorities said a tender would soon be announced to select an artist to create a bust for the Czech statesman.

Earlier today Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania met Marie Kousalikova, Mayor of Prague 6, the largest municipal district of the Czech capital.

The parties discussed the idea of making Tbilisi’s Vake and Prague’s sixth district twin districts.
