Georgian named best soldier in Afghanistan

Private Levan Margveliani was recognized by the ISAF Command as the best soldier in Afghanistan.

A Georgian soldier has been named the best soldier participating in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan.

Private Levan Margveliani, from the Special Mountain Battalion, was recognized by the ISAF Command for his "devotion and successful accomplishment of assigned tasks”.

The Georgian military serviceman was selected from thousands of soldiers from all over the world who participated in the NATO-led security mission, including servicemen and women from the United States, France, the United Kingdom and more.

Private Margveliani was applauded for his efforts and awarded a special certificate for his outstanding work at Camp Pasab by Commander of RC- South Major-General Bills.

The Georgian military have completed their mission at Camp Pasab and have returned to their base at Kandahar Airfield.

Georgia was the largest non-NATO member country to contribute to the mission.
