People have gathered in the main square of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi to celebrate the 2014 Tbilisi Beer Festival.

Rose Revolution Square will be closed for two days while the festival is being held.

The annual event, which started today, is a unique event of European and American beer festivals and offers various activities for guests to enjoy, including beer drinking contests and more.

A concert will also be held on both days of the event.

To buy beer, revelers must use a special currency, a beer coin, which has been created for the event.

As an extra feature, this year visitors will be able to watch the football World Cup final on a big screen tomorrow at midnight.

The majority of visitors of the festival are young people, who are enjoying cheaper prices of various beers. Photo by N.Alavidze/Agenda.ge
