PM Garibashvili: No matter who wins, I believe our country is a winner

PM Garibashvili believed Georgian Dream would win the elections.

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili held a special briefing summarising the runoff elections and deemed it "successful".

"The elections were held in a peaceful environment. All voters were able to express their choice freely and I would like to state once again that today, we have proved we are introducing the practice of democratic, transparent and fair elections in Georgia,” PM Garibashvili said.

He thanked everyone who participated in the elections and served their civic duty. The PM’s offered special gratitude towards the Central Election Commission (CEC), its chairman and the whole election administration.

"These people have worked in a 25 hour schedule in order to make the second round of elections as qualitative as it was on June 15. We believe that the second round will be assessed at the same level by international observers,” the PM added.

Garibashvili believed Georgian Dream would win the second round, however underlined that by holding elections successfully, no matter who won the vote the country had won and that was an important event for Georgia’s further development.
