Tbilisi Mayoral candidates prepare for TV debate

Tbilisi Mayoral candidates representing Georgia’s two major political parties are set to go head to head in a live debate on national television.

Georgian Dream Coalition candidate David Narmania and United National Movement (UNM) candidate Nika Melia will take part in the debate tomorrow.

According to Georgian Public Broadcaster, the debate will be held at 8pm at the Sheraton Hotel.

All national broadcasters will be able to screen the debate live. In addition, during the debate media representatives will be able to ask questions directly to Narmania and Melia.

Georgian Dream media spokesperson Giorgi Gegechkori said Narmania was prepared and ready for tomorrow’s debate.

"We, for our part, have agreed to take part in this type of debate and I am confident that our opponents will also take part,” Gegechkori said.

The runoff elections for Tbilisi's Mayoral Candidates will be held on July 12.
