If Georgian authorities do not agree on the 2014 budget, the Tbilisi City Council could collapse.
The governing members of Parliament raised their concerns at a meeting today, and voiced their fears that Council could collapse if Parliament did not approve the 2014 city budget this month.
"Without the 2014 budget the work of the Tbilisi City Hall will be hampered and similar problems would inevitably cause the collapse of the City Council, Georgian Dream MP Davit Saganelidze said.
Last December Tbilisi City Council failed to approve the 2014 budget for the capital city. At least 24 votes are needed to pass the proposed budget. The budget was supported by 18 delegates, 21 voted against and 3 opted not to vote.
Disagreements between the majority and minority surrounded budget distribution as well as budget priorities defined by the city government.
At todays meeting, officials were discussing the total budget for 2014 730 million GEL (418 million USD).
