Before the self-government elections, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili is once again calling on responsible bodies to protect the choice of Georgian voters no matter which political power they support.

The leader of the ruling coalition made this statement yesterday while delivering a speech at the official closing ceremony of the Georgian Dream electoral campaign.

PM Garibashvili said the Government had done everything it could to ensure a competitive electoral environment and allow the possibility for every voter to freely vote in a fair and peaceful manner according to their conscience.

"Employees of the election administration are performing their activities without any interference. The Government does not interfere in their activities nor their decisions. No one will interfere the performance of the election administration. This is the strong will of my political team. This is why our Government is truly democratic and progressive," Garibashvili told his party supporters.

He promised every incident that cast a shadow on the elections process would be reviewed and every offender would be punished appropriately.

He said the elections were another test that the country had to take on the road of democratic development.

"I call on everyone, be it any political power or their supporters, not to use violence or such actions that may harm the election process and thus stain the image of our country. I am sure that we will quietly go to the polls and vote in favour of a free and happy future of our country, for our children," PM Garibashvili added.

The Georgian population will take part in the municipal elections on June 15.
