Germany on horizon for Georgian students

Almost 90 Georgian students will be studying in Germany this summer after being awarded prestigious academic scholarships today.

The German Ambassador in Georgia will award a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship to 87 Georgian students to study and research in Germany.

Each year, 75,000 DAAD scholarships are awarded to students in developing countries all over the world. The scholarship aimed to develop and utilize globalize scientific relationships.

For the 2014-2015 academic year Georgian Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate students and university professors will travel to universities and research institutes across Germany to study, research and communicate with German scientists.

The Georgian awards ceremony will be held at the residence of German Ambassador Ortwin Hennig this evening.

DAAD scholarships are awarded to students in developing countries and give them the opportunity to study and research in Germany. The scholarship is also open to German students.

With 75,000 global recipients annually, the DAAD scholarship is one of the largest academic exchange programs in the world. In Georgia it is represented in two cities, Tbilisi and Kutaisi, with three professors in each facility.
