Giorgi Margvelashvili wins Georgian troop votes in Afghanistan

The majority of Georgian solders in Afganistan voted for Giorgi Margvelashvili

Georgias ruling coalitions presidential candidate, Giorgi Margvelashvili won by 104 votes against the opposition candidate Davit Bakradze in the Helmand province among the Georgian troops.

According to the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Margvelashvili received 700 votes and David Bakradze managed 596 votes at the polls. The other soldiers voted for the remaining presidential candidates.

The elections for Georgian troops, who are participating in an ISAF mission, was held on October 20. More than 1500 solders participated in it.

CEC counted the votes on October 27 after the voting completed in Georgia.
