Finance Minister’s the 2014 priorities: increase FDI and create jobs

Next year Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri together with other ministers plans to continue works on increasing the foreign direct investments (FDI) and creating the jobs.

"The state budget of Georgia and the structures of the Ministry of Finance do their best to attempt the challenges that will encourage the FDI and create jobs, Khaduri said at a conference on December 21, as he summed up Finance Ministrys works of 2013.

According to Khaduri, the 2014 budget priorities will remain with the improvement of the social sector.

Moreover, last year the government increased the pensions and the monthly allowances for various categories of socially vulnerable families. Starting from September 1, 2013, minimal monthly pension for all the pensioners of retirement age increased to 150 GEL.

Khaduri said that the government plans to increase monthly pensions for the families of fallen soldiers to 500 GEL.

The monthly salary for the judges will also increase from the next year. "We believe that the salary regulation of judges is the main factor for ensuring the independence of judges, Khaduri noted.

Mulling over the 2014 budget, Khaduri noted that the budget priorities for 2014 is the development of infrastructure, agriculture and education.
