Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili welcomed the statement made by the European Council. President Herman Van Rompuys stated the European Union is willing to speed up the signing of the Association Agreements (AA) with Georgia and Moldova by August, 2014 "at the latest, on December 20.
"Frankly, we did expect the European Union to expedite this process, and it is encouraging that the Association Agreement may be signed in August. As for meeting our milestones, we are fulfilling our obligations as fast as possible, Prime Minister said in a conversation with journalists following the meeting with the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia.
"This process is already underway, and we are convinced that everything will be in place by August, We do not anticipate any serious or alarming challenges. Everything is going well," he added.
