The State Minister of Reintegration, Paata Zakareishvili presented a report about the activities carried out in 2013 by his institution.
According to Zakareishvili, Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration will be renamed as The Office of The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civil Equality.
As the Minister said, one of the main tasks during the year was to separate the Georgian-Ossetian and Georgian-Abkhazian components in the conflict of Georgia.
"We have a legacy were only the Georgia-Russia conflict existed and practically, Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-Ossetian context of the conflict was vanished, moved to the Russian basket.Therefore, our task throughout the year was to separate these components in Georgias conflict. The process is still underway with more or less success but there is still much to work to do, - Zakareishvili said.
In addition to this, the Minister spoke about particular achievements regarding ethnic minorities integration.
"We have got a state strategy towards ethnic minorities and within it my institution keeps instant contacts with the ethnic minority areas and due to working with them a progress is observed, Zakareishvili said adding the Ministry of Reintegration actively cooperates with other ministries, too.
