NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen thanks former Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili for one year long cooperation.
"Since you are leaving the post of Prime Minister of Georgia, I want to say thank you for cooperation during this one year. I strongly appreciate your unwavering support for Georgias Euro-Atlantic aspirations, - reads the letter of Rasmussen which was disseminated by the press office of the Prime Minister of Georgia.
According to Rasmussen, under Ivanishvilis leadership Georgia has continued ambitious reforms agenda and achieved substantial success in this regard.
"The allies have confirmed the positive changes under your leadership in the country while assessing the work made in the framework of the Annual National Program. They have especially underlined holding the presidential elections in accordance with international standards and the rule under the complicated period of political cohabitation. Also, I appreciate our sincere talks about the developments in Georgia and NATO-Georgia relations. You showed fidelity of Georgias transformation to the modern democratic country which will take a decent place among European and Euro-Atlantic structures. You have also developed a clear vision of Georgias foreign policy including relations with Russia, - writes the NATO Secretary General in his letter.
Rasmussen is sure that the new Prime Minister and government will extend Ivanishvilis achievements in cooperation with the opposition.
