Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs states that government is only planning to regulate Georgian visa regime and not to make it stricter.
Maia Panjikidze commented on the legislative proposal for the visa regime that has been submitted to Parliament and explained that changes in this field were caused by the EU visa liberalization obligations.
"This process implies regulating the visa regime, not making it stricter. This field was abandoned and Georgia had one-sided visa free regime with 122 countries. During the regulation process, visa regime might be restored with some countries told Panjikidze the reporters.
Foreign Minister does not concretely define with which countries will have the visa regime restored.
