President Margvelashvili attended the business dinner with the European Union member states and Eastern Partnership states leaders. During the dinner Margvelashvili delivered a speech. Before this, when asked about his mood, Giorgi Margvelashvili told journalists he is happy.
In his speech the President of Georgia expressed gratitude towards the EU for political and economic support throughout these years.
"We, Georgians, are aware that we are Europeans, but the historical and geopolitical reasons, have not been given the opportunity to participate in the initial stages of European integration ", - President saidadding that the majority of the Georgias population and almost all the major political parties support Euro-integration as cornerstone of the countrys foreign policy.
According to Margvelashvili, the biggest expectations of Georgia after the Vilnius Summit are:
"We need European Unions support and engagement and we hope that EU will clearly support our independent foreign policy under the conditions of external pressure, Margvelashvili said.
Later today, in his video address, Margvelashvili congratulated Georgian people on this historic step and mentioned that he is continuing meetings with various officials on economics, civil society development and other issues.
By participating in the official dinner, the President of Georgia completed all the meetings scheduled for today. Tomorrow Margvelashvili will meet with the President of France, Francois Oland and deliver a speech on the EAP plenary session. According to the Foreign Affaris Minister, Giorgi Margvelashvilis speech will last for 3 minutes.
