Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, tefan Fe confirmed the willingness of the EU to further enhance cooperation with Georgia and Moldova for EU integration.

In a video conference with Georgian and Moldovan journalists, Fe stated that Georgia and Moldova have supported reforms that are necessary for EU integration.

"If Georgia remains loyal to the values that are important for EU integration, establish rule of law that will not allow selective justice as well as enhancing creating the free media in the country - Georgia will be closer to EU. The closer Georgia is to the EU, the better well be able to protect you, Fe said.

Moreover, Fe stressed that the association agreement will be signed with Georgia in late September.

Stefan Fule also discussed the Ukraines decision to delay signing of the association agreement with the EU. As tefan Fe stated, the EU is ready to sign the deal with Ukraine.

"EU is still ready to sign an association agreement with Ukraine. This issue is up to Ukraine to decide now. We have clearly declared that EU continues dialogue with Russia, to explain the benefits of relations with EU for the Eastern partnership countries, he added.

Asked about if it is possible to impose similar demands on Georgia before signing the association agreement, tefan Fe responded that these two countries are different and they will not be duplicated.
