Georgia will join the Civil Society Conference: "Eastern Partnership Reality Check: Political Challenges and Future Agenda for Civil Society in the framework of Eastern Partnership Summit (EaP) planned on November 28-29 in Vilnius.
The conference participants will focus on the main challenges faced by civil society in the Eastern Partnership countries, and ways to support it through increasing its operational capacity and enhancing civil societys participation in the decision making processes.
The event will bring together civil society leaders from the EaP countries and the European Union, key experts from regional and transatlantic non-governmental organisations, think-tanks, international aid agencies and political foundations, as well as distinguished political figures and public activists.
The conference participants from Georgian side will include the Founder of environmental watchdog group Green Alternative and the Coordinator of the National Platform and the Co-Chair of the EaP CSF in Georgia Manana Kochladze; The Executive Director of Transparency International Georgia Eka Gigauri; and The Chairman of Press Association Lasha Tugushi.
Organized by the Eastern Europe Studies Centre, the conference is held in cooperation with the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and with the kind support of the European Commission, Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Endowment for Democracy.
