Avlabari Presidential Palace welcomes anyone who wants to visit.

People started gathering near the Tbilisi Presidential Palace in Avlabari, Saturday morning. Two groups of 30 people at a time can go through a simple security check and are allowed to enter the building, accompanied by a guide.

Andro Barnovi, head of the Administration for the President of Georgia, said yesterday that the palace would host the citizens on November 16.

"Mikheil Saakashvilis presidential term comes to end and unfortunately, this building will no longer have the status of Presidential Palace. This reality is too hard for us, but we think that this building belongs to people. We want people to see how it looks from the inside, Barnovi said.

The Avlabari Presidential building in Tbilisi was built in 2004-2009. President-elect Giorgi Margvelashvili said that the politicians cannot afford to live and work in a luxury building and once President Saakashvili steps down, his palace will turn into a university building.
