Ex-Chief Prosecutor and ex-senior officials found not guilty

The ex-chief prosecutor and ongoing general director of TV Company Rustavi2, Nika Gvaramia and the other six crime suspects were found not guilty by Tbilisi City Court.

The seven persons were suspected in falsification of formal and tax documents, laundering money, and bribery. The ex-chief Prosecutor, ex-minister of Justice, ex-minister of Education and ongoing director of Rustavi2, Nika Gvaramia, ex-minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alexander Khetaguri, the ex-deputy minister of Economy, Kakha Damenia and Devi Kandelaki, the ex-director of electricity distribution company "Telasi were detained in December, 2012. However, all these persons were released after a bond was required as a preventive measure.

After the investigation, led by the investigative department of the Ministry of Finance, they were found not guilty. According to the verdict, the bond of GEL 30,000 will be returned to these persons during the next two weeks.
