Italy and San Marino are not taking serious the request of breakaway regions of Georgia

Ambassador of Georgia to Italy and San Marino says that the territorial integrity of Georgia is not questionable in Italy, nor in San Marino.

The ambassador of Georgia to Italy and San Marino, Kakha Sikarulidze says the governments of the two countries does not seriously consider the letter from the so called Abkhazia and South Ossetia, breakaway regions of Georgia, about recognition of their independence.

"This is a part of the policy I would call hypocrisy, Sikharulidze said while commenting on the statements of the de-facto foreign ministers of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Viacheslav Chirikba and David Sanakoev.

"They want to distract attention from their domestic problems, he explained supposing that the letter about the recognition of the breakaway regions independence does not even exist.

De-facto foreign ministers of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Chirikba and Sanakoev held a joint press conference yesterday stating they have sent a proper letter to the President of the Italy, Giorgio Napolitano and representatives of San Marino asking them to recognize independence of the two breakaway regions.
