The Georgian troops participation in post-ISAF mission was the main subject of conversation during the Georgian Minister of Defense Irakli Alasanias meeting with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian on November 8.
Alasania met with the French Minister of Defense in the framework of his official visit in France. The colleagues talked about the firming of military affairs between the two countries.
The Georgian minister thanked Jean-Yves Le Drian for supporting Georgias territorial integrity and European integration process.
"We discussed Georgias integration in NATO, bilateral affairs, and military-technical relations for future, said Irakli Alasania. "Its very important for Georgia to increase cooperation with France in various fields. We also talked about military education. I am very glad, that French government pays attention to Georgia.
During the meeting the French Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian emphasized that Georgia plays an important role to provide security in the world.
Georgia has the largest military contingent from the non-NATO member countries, participating in the ISAF Mission. Nowadays more than 1,500 Georgian solders take part in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
