Tbilisi's most beautiful terraces
Terraces in Tbilisi are unique and diverse, and a local company supported by Tbilisi City Hall found the most attractive outdoor decks to showcase the city’s beauty.
Judges of the Tbilisi Terrace 2014 competition, which ended in early September, found the six most beautiful in Tbilisi and awarded them special prizes.
Judges said the terrace of the Tavaduri restaurant satisfied all seven criteria; view, service, cooking, interior design, landscaping, architecture and the environment, and was named the best terrace in Tbilisi in the 2014 contest.
The word ‘Tavadi’ means Duke in English while the word ‘Tavaduri’ symbolised a place that was suitable for a Tavadi – a representative of high society of Georgia.
The terrace has a huge blue ball water fountain made by small pieces of mosaic. The fountain makes the venue comfortable in summer, as temperature in Tbilisi can reach 40C.
Tavaduri is located near Mushtaedi Garden on the left-hand side of Mtkvari River, which splits the capital city in two.
Lisi terrace is located on the shores of Lisi Lake in the heart of Tbilisi. The deck received the Best Cuisine and Landscaping awards in the 2014 contest.
With a cosy atmosphere, plenty of sunshine and natural surroundings, Lisi terrace is a great place to visit.

The Symbol of Tbilisi award was awarded to the restaurant that overlooked the city – the Funicular restaurant that boasted an impressive terrace. The old restaurant complex, which was recently renovated, was described as a modern entertaining area that deserved the award.
Located on the Peak of Mtatsminda Mountain 800m above the city, the Funicular offered visitors a unique view of Tbilisi. The 210m TV tower is nearby.
Modern Italian designed furniture, fixtures and lighting are sympathetic with the surrounding, said judges.
Tiflis terrace is part of a hotel complex in the heart of the city and is surrounded by some of Tbilisi’s most popular tourist attractions.
The breath-taking view of Old Tbilisi, Meidan, Narikala Fortress and Metekhi Church and the river can be seen from the terrace.
The terrace of Tiflis restaurant received the award for the Best View, the Best Service and Favourite in Social Networks in the Tbilisi 2014 contest.
The Unique Terrace is modern entertainment venue that delights Georgia’s nightlife crowd and is located in the centre of Old Tbilisi.
It seeks to cater to people of all tastes by providing an atmosphere for leisure and entertainment.
The non-commercial terrace award was presented to Beka Odisharia’s lounge.
