The International Ice Hockey Federation on Wednesday published an article summarising the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A and praising “rapid-rising” Georgia’s performance at the tournament in Madrid.

Georgia has “come a long way” since the “winless debut” at the 2014 World Championship Division III Group A, the article read, highlighting that Georgians - the “newcomers” in the Division II - “comfortably beat” Iceland and Israel, edging Australia in the final game, with only one defeat “in a tight contest” against the eventual gold-medal winner Spain.
