The United States are ready to support Georgia’s integration into Euro-Atlantic structures and have demanded Russia to withdraw troops from breakaway Georgian regions Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
A meeting between the US Secretary of State John Kerry and the Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission at the State Department was emphasized in Matthew Lee’s article, published on the website Diaal News on February 26.
The Secretary of State advised Russia to be "very careful” about interfering in the process in Ukraine and showcased additional, but unspecified, US assistance "to help support Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic vision".
We continue to object to Russia's occupation, militarization and borderization of Georgian territory, and we call on Russia to fulfil its obligations under the 2008 cease-fire agreement, including the withdrawal of forces and free access for humanitarian assistance, Kerry said.
