Many Eastern European countries, including NATO members, are boosting their defences. And across the Black Sea, the country of Georgia has its own Russia problem, stated author Michael Cecire in an article on the Medium.com website.
"Much like Poland, the tiny pro-West republic is preparing for battle … in order to preserve what remains of its territory in the face of Russian expansion”.
In this piece, Cecire detailed Georgia’s history with Russia, the failures of the 2008 war and how Georgia’s Defence Minister overhauled the defence system to ensure Georgia’s military are now as good, in terms of strategy and experience, as any NATO force.
He outlines Georgia’s contribution to NATO missions and leaves the reader guessing whether Georgia will become a NATO member, as the country so desperately desires.
