Georgia’s Special Investigation Service on Monday said it had arrested one individual for disclosure of confidentiality of personal information and recovered files containing personal information of a victim.
The Service said the arrested individual had dated a married woman last year and secretly filmed their sexual intercourse at a hotel.
The arrested person then requested the victim restore their relationship last month, after their breakup, and threatened her with sending the video footage to her relatives if she refused, the body said.
It also noted the alleged offender had tried to enter the residential house of the victim while her children and other family members were at home.
The woman requested assistance from the Service, with the latter adding it had carried out “urgent investigative actions” that led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator and seizure of files containing intimate information of the victim during a personal search.
