Georgian Deputy Agriculture Minister joins 34th session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe

Nino Tandilashvili, the Georgian Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, joined the 34th session of the Food and Agriculture Organisation’s Regional Conference for Europe in Rome, Italy last week to discuss the role of innovation and digitalisation in strengthening low-emission and sustainable agricultural food systems in Europe and Central Asia.

The Ministry said on Wednesday the discussions also covered agricultural biodiversity, water management, global and regional food security and transformation of agriculture and food systems.

The Conference brought together FAO member countries from Europe and Central Asia, as well as representatives of the United Nations Foundation, programmes and specialised agencies.

The Georgian side also presented wine produced in the country at a meeting on “priority products” at the FAO headquarters.
