Nino Tandilashvili, the Georgian Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, on Friday discussed joint projects and prospects for future cooperation with Michelle Koscielski, the Economic Growth Director of the United States Agency for International Development.

Together with the USAID, we implement a number of projects for the development of agriculture, and to support local farmers. We also cooperate in environmental protection, especially in water resources management”, Tandilashvili said.

She added the Ministry and the Agency were working “intensively at the sectoral level” to fulfil obligations taken under the Association Agreement signed between Georgia and the European Union in 2014.

During the discussions, Koscielski highlighted regional tourism and water projects and noted the projects would contribute to an “effective” cross-border cooperation and management of water resources in the South Caucasus.
