Georgian police have arrested ten individuals in Tbilisi and other regions of the country on charges of illegal purchase and possession of firearms and ammunition, the Georgian Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
As a result of the search of the residential houses of the offenders, various types of firearms, cartridges and other illegal ammunition were seized from the persons, with two out of the ten individuals having previous criminal records, the Ministry revealed.
The crimes are punishable by three to nine years in prison.
