The Investigation Service of Georgia’s Finance Ministry on Friday charged eight individuals, including a former official, with fraudulent appropriation of state-owned plots of land.
The Service said its investigation had found the individuals had fraudulently registered three plots of 6,809 square metres in central-eastern Georgia’s Mtskheta-Mtianeti region using forged documents.
Worth ₾713,942 ($277,285), the plots were registered between 2020-2021 using false witnesses and with the help of an official in one of the local municipalities.
