Officers of the Kakheti Police Department in Georgia’s east have detained four individuals for unlawful confinement and premeditated extortion through violence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Tuesday.
The state body said its investigation had established the offenders had used deception to lure the victim out of their residential house, before physically abusing and unlawfully depriving them of freedom of movement.
The perpetrators had intended to use the victim for extortion purposes, before they were arrested shortly after the incident.
They are facing four to 10 years in prison.
