Georgian PM, Turkmen Minister of Foreign Economic Relations discuss cooperation

The “close” political and economic cooperation between Georgian and Turkmenistan was discussed on Monday between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Begench Gochmollayev, the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan.

The officials highlighted the partnership between the two countries, and reviewed the “potential for international commerce”, as well as efforts for increasing bilateral trade, the PM’s press office said.

The meeting also pointed out the partnership in the energy sector and tourism, with the parties expressing readiness to further develop bilateral tourist flows.

Garibashvili also extended his gratitude to Gochmollayev for Turkmenistan's “firm” support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Their meeting was also attended by Myrat Myradov, the Head of Legal Regulation of Economic Coordination of the Ministry of Trade and Economy of Turkmenistan, Dovletmurat Muratov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, as well as the Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili, the Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze and Konstantine Sabiashvili, the Georgian Ambassador to Turkmenistan.
