Georgia’s national armwrestling team claimed 10 gold, six silver and two bronze medals at the European Championships in Laukaa, Finland, as the competition closed on Sunday.
The prize haul included two gold and one silver medals claimed by armed forces veteran Zviad Khachidze.
The Georgian team’s athletes competed in a number of weight categories among right- and left-handed counterparts, as the event included sections for junior and senior arm wrestlers, as well as those with the titles of Master, Grandmaster, Senior Grandmaster and Ultra Grandmaster.
Men and women athletes from 17 countries, including disabled competitors, entered the Championships.
