Driving licences will be mandatory for all types of moped and quad bike vehicles in Georgia starting March 28, the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia announced earlier on Wednesday.
Owners will need to register their mopeds and quad bikes with the Agency or at Periodic Technical Inspection centres until March 28.
The bill on making driving licences mandatory for the types of vehicles was proposed to the Parliament in 2019, with the impetus behind the new law stemming from Georgia’s responsibilities to the European Union under the 2014-signed Association Agreement.
