A platoon of the Georgian Defence Forces has returned home with a silver medal of Cambrian Patrol, a defence exercise hosted in Wales, the Georgian defence ministry said on Thursday.
The platoon from the intelligence department and a ranger battalion showed second-best result in covering the distance of 70 km in 48 hours and completing 10 different intelligence tasks on the route, the state body noted.

The tasks involved identifying minefields and arranging exits, providing first aid, identifying enemy equipment and assaulting an enemy fortified position.
Organised for over 60 years, Exercise Cambrian Patrol is described as a “mission focused and scenario-based exercise” open to regular, reserve and international patrols. Georgian troops took part in the exercise for the seventh time.
