Border Police arrest 2 Armenian citizens for illegal border crossing, drug smuggling attempt

Georgian Border Police have arrested two Armenian citizens for an attempt of illegal crossing of the border between the two states in Georgia’s south-east and smuggling of drugs, the state body said on Thursday.

The offenders were arrested while attempting to illegally cross into the country through the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen Border Crossing Point.

The crimes are punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
