Highland regions of Georgia will welcome visitors with a range of activities introducing local cuisine, crafts and more as part of the annual Mountain Week, with the programme launching on Saturday.
In its release on the event, the Government Administration said northern regions and municipalities of Tusheti, Kazbegi, Svaneti and Racha would host the planned activities.

For the first time, visitors will be taught preparation of khinkali dumplings in Tusheti and Kazbegi, two of the localities known for their versions of the popular dish.
They will also be invited to knitting and crafts lessons, music performances, sports activities and educational tours, while specially arranged camping areas will host participants in overnight stays.

Established in 2018, Mountain Week is designed to promote the development of mountain localities and resorts.
The Mountain Week will be held on the initiative of the Government of Georgia and the Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili.
