Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg on Friday said his country was “ready to accompany” Georgia on its European integration path and assist the country in reforms related to attaining the European Union membership candidate status.
Schallenberg had a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili as part of an official visit of a delegation led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to Vienna.

In his turn, Ilia Darchiashvili thanked the Austrian Government for “principled” position on the support for Georgia’s European future.

At a joint press conference held with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer stressed it was “very important” to support Georgia on its Western integration, both in what the country had already accomplished and in measures still ahead for the process.
