The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has arrested a police officer with a charge of physically assaulting a woman in Georgia’s western town of Zugdidi on January 26.
Identified only as G.B., the officer had “repeatedly punched his friend in the face during a personal dispute”, a statement from the office said.
The arrested law enforcement employee has been charged with “beating or another type of violence resulting in physical pain in the victim.”
The crime is punishable up to two years in prison.
