Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has met with Uruguayan Foreign Minister Francisco Bustillo earlier today and has thanked him for his country’s support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Georgian government administration announces.
It was emphasised (at the meeting) that Uruguay is a strong supporter and valuable partner of Georgia in the region,” the Georgian government administration reports.
Georgian’s interests in ‘further deepening trade and economic ties with Uruguay’ in parallel with the development of political relations were stressed at the meeting.
Georgian Foreign minister David Zalkaliani also attended the meeting with Uruguayan FM Bustillo and stated that Uruguay is ready to start negotiations with Georgia to sign a free trade agreement, noting that ‘it will be an important tangible result of the visit.’
