368 kilograms of heroin worth $24 million has been seized on the territory of Ukraine in an eight-month international operation with the involvement of Georgian, Armenian and Ukrainian law enforcers, the Georgian Interior Ministry reported earlier today.
Drug traffickers attempted to transport heroin from Iran to Ukraine via Georgia and Armenia to later sell it in central Europe.
The drugs were hidden in transit cargo.
Two members of the organized group, who are Turkish nationals, were arrested in Ukraine on July 22, said the ministry.
The crime is punishable by 12 years in prison in Ukraine.
